Frat House French Toast

An interest in cooking often starts at an early age - but it’s never too late to begin. With a little help, a five-year-old can mix the milk and egg for this easy French toast. A five-year-old can also soak thick pieces of bread for frying. I find it easier and more efficient to make this great brunch dish in an electric griddle rather than a frying pan

Too many college kids don’t know how to make simple French toast. That’s how this recipe got its name and ... yada-yada-yada! Come on, college boys! Making French toast is the first step to discovering the New You. Of course, you’ll have to learn to speak the language of love, first!

Frat House French Toast:

2 large eggs
2 tbsp. milk
4 slices commercially baked, slightly stale bread (I use whole wheat)

Preheat electric griddle or frying pan at medium-high heat. Using fork or small whisk, combine eggs and milk in pie plate. Dip bread slices into egg-milk mixture, one side at a time. When both sides of each slice have been coated, immediately transfer to hot griddle, cooking each side 45-to-60 sec. Serve hot, with butter and warm syrup.

If you want to get fancy, dust with sifted icing sugar - aka powdered sugar or confectioners sugar. Serves 2.

Combine eggs and milk

Dip one side ...

Then the other!

Fry lightly on medium-hot griddle.

Mmmmmm! Mmmmmm!

One of many satisfied customers!

Another egg recipe tomorrow: Frat House Ham Omelet, otherwise known as, um ... Hamlet.
